Situated at the south-west coast of Kefalonia, the village of Svoronata is set among the fertile valleys and rolling hills of the Livathos region. The village has retained much of its old-world charm, thanks to the sleepy winding streets and colourful gardens. Homely holiday villas dot the outskirts, surrounded by rambling olive groves and perfectly-plotted fruit orchards.
And if you take a 5-minute drive, you’ll find 3 sandy beaches – Ammes, Avithos and Ai Helis. The sinuous coastline serves up for this trio of beaches. Towering headlands bookend Ai Helis Beach, a sheltered scoop of sand strung with volleyball nets. Avithos Beach, meanwhile, has shallow, child-friendly waters, uncrowded sands and a taverna. Ammes Beach is the quietest of the lot and comes well-stocked with sunloungers and parasols.
