Atheras is quite a small but traditional mountain village with approximately 200 people residing there. Located high in the western corner of Paliki peninsula of kefalonia this remote pretty village is surrounded by farmland land, which by in large supports the economy of the village.
You will enjoy wonderful panoramic views from the top of the village. Atheras had to be mostly rebuilt after the 1953 earthquake, and the houses display many colourful gardens. One villager has made a pot planter from an old WW2 sea mine.
